Basics for Troop 265 Parents

.) Register with the Troop as a Committee Member (it is free with active adult participation).
.) Get Youth Protection training –  Create an account on https://myscouting.scouting.org for online training.
.) Attend the monthly Troop Committee meeting – especially if you have a formal position.
.) Help with a camping trip or major Troop event.
.) Think about the formal position openings and how you can best help.
.) Attend troop meetings when you can. This is a great way to get to know boys and adults.
.) Attend merit badge counselor training at Roundtable on September 5th. Bring youth protection training certificate with you and  a list of merit badges you are willing to counsel (try to sign-up for 3 Eagle required – that is our greatest need). You don’t have to teach a class unless you want to!
.) Be supportive of other leaders – we are all volunteers trying to bring good experiences to our Scouts.
